It is very funny to sit for a test at ACE this morning. Normally that time is my Strategic Financial class, for my last term of BA. But, since there are many ACE scholarships to my workplace, so why there is no rather reason to waste such kind of opportunity. Right?
Thought the test was something like IELTS or TOEFL test, but completely different. The first question of it was about to write down what is after A, after B…. lolz. There is something more interesting at the very last part of it: essay question topic related to my favorite field. How technology does affect the way of learning and working? What it should be in the future?
In less than five decades, the world has changed a lot especially in the field of technology or information and communications technology: Internet, mobile phones and other gadgets. This fast and still on-going change affects not only the way we communicate each other but also the way we learn, work, live and ultimately our mind and our lifestyle. In short, it changes basically everything. Everyone is trying to keep up with it even now, and in somewhat a funny way: corporate leaders are learning from theirs junior workers who are more accustomed to new gadgets, parents from their children, and even politician are learning that the proper or careless use of information technology could mean the rise and fall of their fortunes.
It was simply hard to imagine. At the old time, it took days to send a mail from a country to another and sometimes it went to wrong destination just a small error of postal code confusion, a costly expense to request for an installation of telephone line besides waiting for months of connection, moving for long distances from remote area to the town looking to grab for a job, working hard and lost of calorie with brain’s use, students carried heavy books and other materials back home after library research, etc.
But nowadays with the significant changes resulting in the presence of internet, mobile phone, Wi-Fi and other facilities unthinkable even ten years ago brings the glimmer of hope.
With the new technology, student can get access to many pre-to-use formats, template and applications provided by the developers from various IT grounds, to perform the school routine tasks, while Internet saves student’s time: just a one click search, the whole world resources are available in front of oneself. The matter stills the patience and how smart the one can retrieve the exact content of his research. It allows student even to have an online study with a university from a foreign country.
Internet doesn’t help only student but people, more and more nowadays, to work away from office. Home based work, freelancing and outsourcing have become the trend work enjoyed by both employees and workers. In the mass-media field, Journalism will never be the same, the journalists are redefining news of its articles with the interactive readers via the Blog which permit the mix in business, pleasure and news, allowing the owner an immense benefits.
Another remarkable evolution concerning mobile phone and Wi-Fi is an impressive movement that should not be missed to mention about. Possessing a mobile in hand, walking with the connected Bluetooth earphone as a new image of our actual society, express that mobile phone become the daily commodity product. Using for a basic function of making phone call, and text messaging instead of replacement of ancient postal mail communication, it have extra functions such as entertainment with music and mp4, camera and camcorder function, office Personal Digital Assistant function, GPS indicator, connection to Wireless Access Protocol and Graphical Package Radio System, gaming gadgets… Lot of world class phone companies put efforts in it Research and Development in order to promote and reach the state of all-in-one, equipped by a mobile phone.

The change will continue, and still at a very high speed. The world would become smaller than any other times it has been before. Long lost-friends can be re-united, family living in the different corners of the world would no longer feel far part but a close liveliness, and for those who wish to have job can also get work with any corporation from any place. But, as every big change, adaptability need to be required as numerous example have shown that while the way of communicating, learning and working have never been so simple, it can create complex situation at the mean time.
