News from the Temple of Preah Vihear Region

On October 6, 2008 at 10:00 AM in the morning, an estimated number of 100 Thai troops moved from North to South direction towards the location of the skirmish between Thai troops and the Cambodian troops last Friday October 3, 2008.

At around 10:20 AM, Two Thai soldiers stepped on land mines during their border patrol. The land mines believed to be old mines on point 6492. The land mines located inside the Cambodian territory, which is located about between 150 meters to 200meters North of the location of the skirmish last Friday 03, 2008.

One Thai soldier suffered an amputated leg, and the other Thai soldier has both legs amputated by the explosions.

A Thai military helicopter landed at the “RED HOUSE” on Thailand side of the border to evacuate those two wounded soldiers.
